FICHT DFI, KADIAG and EMM Diagnosis

The fuel-injection chapters explain stratified-charge combustion, ignition timing and EMM (Engine Management Module) operation. A Service Code Chart and Flow Chart of Diagnosis connect warning indications with circuit and component checks, helping narrow a fault before an EMM or injector is replaced. KADIAG coverage includes live engine monitoring, stored codes, cylinder drop tests and the transfer of engine-specific data to a replacement EMM. The JT1100-F1 supplement adds revised injector installation details and Kawasaki Smart Steering operation, sensor-and-magnet installation, clearance checks and voltage tests. Its Steering Position Sensor Circuit and EMM connector pin views support diagnosis of this added steering function.

The 900 STX supplement covers Keihin CDCV 38-33 carburetors, throttle and choke cables, carburetor disassembly, high-altitude jetting and CDI ignition tests. Its Fuel System Diagram identifies supply, return, vent and pulse lines. The fuel pump is serviced as a unit; internal disassembly is excluded.

Both supplements are used with the base manual for procedures they do not repeat. Model Application tables identify the covered models by beginning hull-number patterns.

Engine, Lubrication and Jet-Pump Repair

Engine coverage extends to cylinder-head warpage, cylinder and piston inspection, piston-ring end gap, crankshaft runout and connecting-rod clearances. Crankshaft disassembly is specifically excluded because it requires specialized equipment.

Oil-injection procedures include output checks and bleeding after engine installation. Pump and drive-system sections cover bearings, seals, couplings and impeller-to-case clearance, with Impeller Wrench 57001-1228 and Impeller Holder 57001-1393 identified.
