Workshop Scope and Cautions

Two manual-specific cautions matter during cylinder-head repair: diesel injector tips project through the combustion face and can be damaged if the head is set face-down, while forcing valve-seat inserts out with a chisel can ruin the counterbores. The manual also treats each injector nozzle valve and tip as a matched pair, helping prevent mixed components from compromising fit and spray performance.

The Bosch distributor-pump section supports removal, installation, timing, linkage, and speed adjustment, but explicitly leaves internal injection-pump repair to a properly equipped diesel shop. Before separating the engine, clutch housing, or rear frame—or lifting a final drive, differential, or lift housing—support the tractor with rated splitting stands and approved lifting gear. High-pressure diesel fuel can penetrate skin; depressurize the system and keep hands away from suspected leaks.
