The cautions are tied to actual failure points. A6MF1 or valve-body replacement is followed by GDS reset/adaptation work and TCM learning; omitting it can leave slow response, jerky acceleration, or poor takeoff quality. Timing-system repair cautions against losing chain position or allowing debris into the timing cover while the camshafts are released, since incorrect indexing can compromise valve timing. The SRS chapters prohibit resistance testing across inflator circuits and require proper electrical isolation because incorrect probing can trigger deployment or damage restraint components. Brake/ABS, refrigerant, drivetrain, and airbag work should be performed with the vehicle correctly supported, hydraulic and refrigerant pressure controlled, battery isolation completed as directed, and suitable personal protective equipment in use.
