Chain Slack and Front Pad Limits: A Brief Preview

These examples are a small selection of the manual's adjustment and wear specifications.

The drive chain inspection specifies 20–30 mm of slack at the chain's tightest position, measured midway between the sprockets with the motorcycle on its side stand.

For front brake pad lining thickness, the service limit is 1.5 mm for EX300A and 1.0 mm for EX300B. The accompanying inspection text explains replacement of both pads in a caliper when either lining falls below its applicable limit.
