The diagnostic routines were developed on the assumption that Digital Technician II may not be available, although the manual still identifies operations that require it, such as module programming, selected security functions, and ABS service work.

Model-Specific Repair Cautions

The manual warns that magnetic trays, magnetic-base indicators, and alternator rotors can damage the ABS wheel-speed sensor or encoder bearing. It also calls for the specified lever/bracket insert when removing or installing the front master cylinder; omitting it can damage the front stoplight-switch boot and plunger.

Brake and ABS repairs and Police strobe-system service are safety-critical. Follow the factory isolation, bleeding, programming, and post-repair low-speed test requirements before returning the motorcycle to service.
