Use each model supplement with the included Touring service and electrical diagnostic manuals: the supplements describe model-specific differences and refer shared procedures to the base publications.

The catalog’s VRSC, Sportster, Dyna, and Softail listings provide parts and accessory fitment information. Workshop repair manuals for those additional families are not included.

PDF Search, Bookmarks, and File Contents

Finding procedures and diagrams: All nine PDFs contain searchable text. The seven service and diagnostic publications have chapter and section bookmarks; the catalog and separate contents guide do not. Small wiring labels are best read at enlarged zoom. The catalog’s graphic cover lettering is not fully searchable.

The ZIP contains nine printable PDFs totaling 3,045 pages, including the separate two-page contents guide. Original covers, front matter, and blank pages are included in these counts.

Touring Repair, Electrical Diagnosis, and Model-Specific Systems

The following selected coverage highlights outline the main workshop areas. Further procedures include storage preparation and rear-sprocket isolator inspection.

• Engine service: Engine removal and installation, cylinder-head and piston work, cam and oil-pump service, and crankcase inspection.
• Primary drive and transmission: Primary-drive removal, clutch inspection and adjustment, transmission disassembly, component inspection, and reassembly with specified clearances.
• Chassis and brakes: Wheel-bearing replacement, fork and steering-head service, rear-suspension work, brake inspection, and applicable bleeding procedures.
• Fuel and EFI: Fuel-pressure and intake-leak tests, tank and pump service, injector work, and electronic throttle-control diagnosis.
• Electrical troubleshooting: Serial-data and DTC fault isolation, battery, starting and charging tests, instruments, lighting, security, ABS, and audio.
• Model-specific systems: CVO hydraulic clutch and convenience equipment, Trike rear axle and reverse systems, and Police lighting and switchgear.

These publications support routine maintenance and major repair, with the deeper work aimed at experienced hands-on owners and shop technicians familiar with normal service practices, factory specifications, and the required tools and test equipment.

Engine, Primary Drive, and Transmission Work

Internal-engine coverage includes cylinder heads, cylinders, pistons, rocker gear, lifters, pushrods, cams, oil pump, and crankcase. Torque tables, wear limits, capacities, adjustments, and test specifications support inspection and assembly decisions.

The flywheel/crankshaft and connecting-rod material covers inspection and assembly replacement; the flywheel assembly is not internally serviceable. The manual also warns that loading the valve train during rocker-support work can bend pushrods and damage support components.

Factory tool references include the HD-47941 crankshaft/camshaft sprocket locking tool and HD-42325-A camshaft needle-bearing remover/installer. Exploded views support engine, clutch, transmission, chassis, and body work.

Chassis, Bodywork, and ABS Service

Mechanical procedures extend to sealed wheel bearings, forks, steering-head bearings, rear suspension, fairings, saddlebags, and Tour-Pak components.

ABS brake bleeding after opening or replacing a hydraulic component or line connection requires Digital Technician II. The ABS material also warns that magnetic tools and parts trays can damage wheel-speed sensors or encoder bearings.

Fuel-System Service and Electrical Fault Isolation

Fuel-system procedures cover the tank, pump, injectors, throttle-control components, sensors, exhaust, and evaporative-emissions hardware. The service procedures and electrical diagnostic routines connect mechanical checks with EFI and engine-management fault tracing.

The diagnostic manual’s routines assume Digital Technician II is unavailable, while also documenting HD-48650 Digital Technician II for module communication, diagnosis, and programming. HD-48637 ECM and HD-48642 ABS Breakout Boxes support circuit testing.

Wiring references include ABS and non-ABS Main Harness variants, Starting Circuit, Front Lighting/Console Harness/ABS, Security Circuit with Anti-Theft Tracking Module, Ultra Radio RF Interconnect, and Police main/fairing harness diagrams. Connector-repair sections cover Delphi, Deutsch, Molex, and JAE terminal families.

CVO, Trike, and Police Procedures

CVO material adds hydraulic-clutch service and bleeding, model-specific engine and chassis work, LED lighting, Advanced Audio, power locks, heated controls or seating, garage-door opener, and XM/iPod functions where fitted. The Road Glide Custom and Road King CVO supplements cover Twin Cam 110 applications.

Trike procedures cover rear axle and differential removal and service, rear brakes, drive-belt replacement, lateral alignment, park brake, rear suspension, panhard rod, and reverse-control and reverse-motor testing. Differential-housing halves are not separated for an internal rebuild; internal components are not sold separately.

Police coverage adds model-specific maintenance, marker lighting, switchgear, and dedicated FLHP/FLHTP wiring.

Accessory Fitment and Period-Correct Configuration

The catalog includes Night Rod Special, Fat Bob, SuperLow, and other family applications, plus Screamin’ Eagle stage kits, air cleaners, exhaust, Street Tuner, engine and transmission components, specialty tools, controls, audio, lighting, wheels, luggage, and docking hardware.

Touring detachable-docking layouts, cam-comparison charts, Daymaker headlamp illustrations, control-cable and brake-line application charts, and Boom! Audio fitment tables distinguish model/year applications, ABS configurations, and required hardware.

For a 110th Anniversary restoration or period-correct customization, the service publications provide repair procedures while the catalog supplies the corresponding accessory and fitment reference.

For safety-critical brake, ABS, fuel-system, chassis, and engine repair, use the applicable factory procedure, required tools, and final inspection checks before returning the motorcycle to the road.

Selected Fuel-Pressure and Charging Specifications

The Touring fuel-pressure test specifies a steady 55–62 psi (380–425 kPa) with the engine running as engine speed is varied.

The charging-system specifications list alternator output of 16–23 VAC per 1,000 rpm and stator-coil resistance of 0.1–0.2 ohms. These are examples of the test values used with the applicable procedures and test conditions.
