Arctic Cat 2013 Snowmobile Service Manual Set (P/N 2259-510)

The wiring publication pairs model-specific harness layouts with the service manual’s component tests. Its index distinguishes configurations such as the 800 models with and without electric start, helping technicians select the appropriate circuit before testing.

The service manual excludes the Sno Pro 120. That model appears in the wiring publication for electrical-diagram coverage only. Dedicated Sno Pro 500 and Sno Pro 600 circuits are also included.

Engine, Drive Train and Chassis Service

The following topics are selected examples from the manuals. Other covered work includes storage preparation and headlight-aim adjustment.

• Engine repair: Engine removal and installation, crankcase disassembly, piston and crankshaft inspection, internal measurements, and reassembly for the covered engine platforms.

• Cooling and lubrication: Water-pump service, cooling-system filling and bleeding, engine pressure testing, and four-stroke oil-pressure checks.

• Fuel systems: Carburetor overhaul and synchronization, EFI fuel-pressure testing, injector service, throttle-body work, and oil-injection pump adjustment.

• Electrical diagnosis: ECM and CCU fault-code charts, TPS adjustment, ignition and sensor resistance tests, starter diagnosis, and model-specific wiring diagrams.

• Drive train and brakes: ACT gear-case overhaul and flushing, chain-case service, clutch alignment, belt-deflection adjustment, and hydraulic brake inspection and bleeding.

Written for service personnel, this manual covers work that calls for engine-measuring tools, electrical test equipment and nitrogen-shock service equipment.

Engine Overhaul and Turbocharger Work

Engine assembly schematics and component layouts support planning for mechanical teardown and reassembly across the 500, 570, 800 and 1100 engine platforms. The internal service chapters include two-stroke squish-gap checks and four-stroke cam timing, bearing-selection charts and Tappet Shim Selection Tables.

For the four-stroke valve train, Arctic Cat recommends a qualified machine shop when valves, guides or seats require service or replacement.

Turbocharger sections distinguish F/M/XF installations from T-Series installations. They cover removal, inspection and reinstallation of the turbocharger and intercooler; damaged compressor or turbine blades call for turbocharger replacement.

Fuel Controls and Electrical Fault Finding

The Arctic Power Valve (APV) section covers cable adjustment, component service and servomotor troubleshooting on the 800 platform. Exhaust Controlled Timing (ECT) operation is also explained.

EFI diagnosis combines fault-code identification with fuel-system and electrical tests. Air- and coolant-temperature voltage/resistance charts provide references for sensor checks. Specified equipment includes the Fluke Model 77 multimeter and TPS Adjustment Tool Kit 3639-891.

Laptop-based EFI testing for the 800/1100 platforms and EFI Analyzer use on the 500 platform refer to separate diagnostic manuals, which are not included in this set. Altitude-specific carburetor jet selection also refers to the snowmobile’s jet chart.

The ignition section warns that cranking with ungrounded spark plugs can damage the coils or CDI/ECM.

Cooling, Drive Cases and Suspension

The 1100 oil-flow chart and cooling-system schematics show component routing alongside the service procedures. Drive-system references include Gear Case Performance Calibrations, Chain Case Performance Calibrations, torque tables and clutch-alignment specifications.

ACT gear-case service includes inspection and reassembly, but the planetary gear assembly is a replacement component rather than an internally serviceable unit. The manual also warns that Loctite on the ACT driven-clutch retaining cap screw can damage the gear case.

Rear-suspension procedures distinguish Bearcat XT, Bearcat 570/T-Series, F-Series and F/M/XF arrangements, including RR-specific components. Fox Float X EVOL coverage extends to the air sleeve, shaft assembly, EVOL reservoir and internal floating piston.

Follow the manual’s precautions for high-pressure nitrogen shocks, pressurized fuel and rotating drive components.

Examples of 1100 Piston and Valve Clearance Data

For 1100 engine inspection, piston-skirt/cylinder clearance is 0.0011–0.0016 inch on non-turbo engines and 0.0006–0.0010 inch on turbo engines. These specifications accompany the piston and cylinder measurement procedures.

Intake valve clearance on the 1100 engines is 0.0039–0.0078 inch with the engine cold at 59–77°F (15–25°C). The valve-service section includes shim-selection tables for correcting out-of-specification clearance.
