Each book brings together the tractor and trailer parts sections for its listed serial range. Select the applicable book first, then use its serial-effectivity columns and optional-equipment indexes to locate the correct parts form.

These are illustrated parts catalogs for repair-parts identification and ordering, rather than step-by-step overhaul or diagnostic manuals. The Detroit Diesel books expressly exclude internal engine parts illustrations and part numbers; engine mounting, external connections, and selected engine-mounted components are covered in the truck sections.

Search and drawing detail: Parts tables and section headings have searchable PDF text. Some labels within illustrations are not searchable. Embedded bookmarks cover all five books and their tractor, trailer, and applicable optional-equipment indexes. Small connector labels and drawing callouts benefit from zooming.

The collection is supplied as one printable, 1,941-page PDF. The publication totals above include their covers, indexes, and 159 intentionally blank pages; one additional front page is also included in the overall total.

Truck Drivetrain, Steering, and Hydraulic Parts

The following are selected contents, rather than a complete table of contents. Other examples include air-horn lines and optional exhaust-heated body arrangements.

• Engine installation and cooling: Parts breakdowns for engine mounting, air cleaners, exhaust assemblies, and the radiator and heat-exchanger arrangements used on the applicable trucks.

• ZF transmission: Gearbox housings, input and output assemblies, differential, planetary drive, powershift splitter, retarder, torque converter, and shift-control parts.

Serial Effectivity and Repair-Parts Ordering

Each parts form links illustration item numbers to part numbers, descriptions, and quantities. Indented entries distinguish complete assemblies from their included subassemblies and individual components. This helps establish what an assembly order includes and which related items require separate ordering.

Serial breaks matter within individual books. Transmission, axle, hydraulic, and cab sections can change before the end of a book’s overall serial range. The illustrations show typical assemblies and may not reproduce every detail of the installed unit, so the applicable parts list and its notes remain important.

Replacement Conditions and Kit Contents

The steering-cylinder notes identify a replacement that is valid only when the cylinders are exchanged in pairs. Other notes distinguish complete bearing packs from components that are not sold separately.

For the listed brake pump, Viton shaft seal 15269696 is excluded from seal kit 15267193 and is identified as a separate order item. Wheel and rim notes also prohibit intermixing components from different manufacturers.

Repair work around hydraulic accumulators and the articulation joint requires appropriate pressure isolation and mechanical restraint; the parts illustrations do not replace the applicable service procedures.

Harness Layouts and Component Illustrations

Electrical Cables and Harness—Cab illustrations identify connections to the frame, engine, transmission, and brake harnesses. The later cab drawings also show fuse and relay banks, diode blocks, and switch connectors. These are component and connection references, rather than diagnostic flowcharts.

Named mechanical views include the ZF Transmission Powershift Splitter, Articulation & Oscillation Pivot, Steering Flow Amplifier Valve, and Brake Manifold Valve/PAS Valve. Hydraulic line illustrations connect numbered hoses and fittings to their parts-table entries.

Example Pivot Shim Thicknesses

The 4066 articulation and oscillation pivot list identifies shim 15235303 as 0.003 in thick and shim 15235306 as 0.040 in thick. These are individual component sizes for parts identification, not bearing-preload settings or wear limits.
