This Suzuki service manual covers 1990–1993 VX800 models L, M, N and P, including the 805cc TSCC V-twin and shaft drive. The base manual is accompanied by model-specific M, N and P supplements.

Engine Repair and Shaft Drive

Periodic maintenance schedules accompany engine specifications and frame/VIN and engine serial-number locations. Internal inspection covers cylinder-head components, piston-ring gaps, connecting-rod bearing selection and crankshaft journal bearings.

Reassembly guidance specifies adhesives and sealants. Engine mounting illustrations include plate/spacer-length and bolt-length charts. The primary-drive gear bolt has a left-hand thread; the manual warns that treating it as a conventional fastener can cause damage.

The shaft-drive sections document secondary and final bevel gears separately, with exploded assembly views, shim tables and tooth-contact patterns. Backlash and tooth contact are treated as related adjustments, with rechecks specified after shim changes.

Mikuni Carburetors and Emission Controls

The front Mikuni BDS36SS and rear BS36SS have separate specifications. Country-code tables distinguish jetting and settings, including E-03, E-33, E-18 and the E-22 U-type. Matching the stamped carburetor ID to the appropriate table helps avoid selecting jets or settings for the wrong version.

Synchronization coverage distinguishes work following replacement of the synchronizing cable, throttle cables or carburetors. Oil-pressure diagnosis includes possible causes of high and low readings, supported by the lubrication system flow chart.

Emission-control information explains close-tolerance jets and factory-sealed pilot screws. California coverage includes the evaporative system and canister hose routing.
