Two assembly cautions are worth knowing before major engine repair. The camshaft journal holders must be drawn down evenly or the cylinder head and holder thrust surfaces can be damaged; valve-guide installation can likewise damage the guide or head if the bore is not prepared as specified. Because the manual also covers gasoline handling, hot cooling-system service, battery isolation, brake hydraulics, and running-engine carburetor tests, repair work should be performed in a ventilated shop with the factory warnings observed.
