Manual-Specific Repair Notes
Several details are easy to miss without the factory text. Lash adjusters must be air-bled in kerosene; the manual warns that using solvent, fluid, or oil for this operation can cause engine damage. The secondary driven bevel gear is specifically marked not to be disassembled, and any tooth-contact correction must be followed by another backlash check before final assembly. Brake and clutch circuits use glycol-based fluid; mixing silicone- or petroleum-based fluids can seriously damage the hydraulic system.
Engine removal, fuel-system service, fork work, and brake or clutch repair require secure support, fire-safe handling, and close attention to the manual's safety cautions.
