The transmission section specifically notes that the 1986 and later C6 gears are not interchangeable.
Honda states that standard workshop procedures and general service principles are not explained in detail. The manual is therefore best suited to professional technicians and experienced owners who already understand precision measurement, bearing service, hydraulic brake work, and safe use of specialized shop equipment.
Engine and Drivetrain Repair Depth
Top-end inspection and repair can be performed with the engine installed. The same applies to the clutch, balancer, gearshift linkage, kick starter, alternator, and balancer-bearing holder. Transmission or crankshaft repair requires engine removal and crankcase separation, and the manual carries those jobs through inspection, bearing replacement, shaft and gear assembly, oil-seal installation, and crankcase reassembly.

Chassis, Suspension, and Brake Work
