2000–2004 JCB Robot 190, 190HF, 1110, 1110HF Skid Steer Loader Service Manual (P/N 9803/8530)

This JCB service manual covers the 2000–2004 Robot 190, 190HF, 1110, and 1110HF skid steer loaders. Publication No. 9803/8530, Issue 8 covers standard and high-flow hydraulics, manual and servo controls, cab and canopy versions, and wheeled and tracked configurations.

Hydrostatic Diagnosis and Hydraulic Component Repair

Fault isolation: The hydrostatic troubleshooting charts distinguish pump faults from motor faults when drive is lost on one side. Separate standard and high-flow servo circuit diagrams help match the hydraulic layout to the machine's controls.

Transmission pump: Series 42 pump coverage includes removal, coupling alignment, and startup checks. The servo pump repair procedures cover seals and relief valve replacement; a complete rebuild requires a dynamic test jig and lies outside this manual's scope. Withdrawing the input shaft can disturb internal alignment and make a full rebuild necessary.

Loader pumps and valves: Standard gear pump dismantling and inspection are covered. High-flow tandem pump resealing applies to pumps with satisfactory flow and pressure; gear and bearing replacement will not permanently cure low output.

The charge pressure priority valve has a flow/pressure test graph and replacement guidance; the valve must be replaced as an assembly if faulty. Loader control valve and self-leveling valve sections include dismantling, inspection, assembly, and sectional drawings.

Drive Motors, Brake Packs, and Running Gear

Motor procedures distinguish single-speed and two-speed MCR5A units on wheeled machines from MCR10A units on tracked machines. The single-speed motor exploded view identifies the separate-sprocket and integral-shaft arrangements.

Wheel hub work includes bearing assembly and preload, with dedicated hub and seal installation tools. Track sections address damage assessment, tension, rollers, idlers, and track frame removal. Recoil unit coverage is limited to removal and replacement.

Engine Variants and Electrical Fault Tracing

Engine service: Fuel procedures distinguish the self-priming AR/AK system from the RE/RG electric priming pump arrangement. Running with air in the fuel system can damage the injection pump. Internal engine repair is referred to separate engine service manuals, 9806/2140 for AR/AK and 9806/2250 for RE/RG; those manuals are not included here.

Electrical diagnosis: Voltage, resistance, continuity, and diode tests support charging, starting, lighting, and interlock fault finding. Alternator service and M127 starter overhaul include component inspection and adjustment.

Mainframe and engine harness drawings accompany connector, terminal, wire-code, and wire-size tables. Fuse ratings and relay identification are separated by engine build, alongside bulb specifications and battery specific gravity and load-test data.

Cab Repairs and Workshop Reference Tables

Body procedures distinguish early and later front screens and cover direct glazing, loader arm removal, and hand/foot control linkages. Follow the manual's loader-arm support, machine blocking, and hydraulic pressure-release precautions before repair work.

Reference tables cover BSP and SAE fittings, grade 8.8 metric bolt torques, fluid capacities, JCB oils and greases, and tire pressures.

A Preview of Charge-Pressure and Brake-Pack Specifications

These examples are a small selection of the manual's test and assembly data. For manual and servo transmission pumps, charge pressure at an oil temperature of 50°C is specified as 17–18 bar at idle and 25–27 bar at maximum engine speed.

For wheeled drive motors, the brake plate pack thickness measured with the pack clamped in a vise is 20.25–20.35 mm for two-speed units and 28.5–28.7 mm for single-speed units. These are separate assembly specifications for the corresponding motor designs.
