Manual-Specific Repair Cautions

The timing section warns that the left- and right-bank camshafts are different and that misaligning the spacer can deform the crankshaft-sensing blade. The F5A51-3 uses directional thrust bearings and measured end-play/preload selection; reversing a bearing or skipping setup can leave damaging internal clearances. During front axle work, the shaft must not hang from the inner CV joint, where it can separate the joint or damage the transaxle oil seal.

SRS field-deployment, post-collision inspection, and A/C refrigerant procedures are workshop-level operations. Battery isolation, the specified SRS waiting period, approved diagnostic simulators, proper vehicle support, and refrigerant recovery equipment are required before work begins.
