Several manual-specific cautions show why the factory procedure matters. The crankshaft section calls for the 09920-13111 remover specifically to prevent damage to the crankshaft and its bearing. Brake service warns that excess grease around the brake cam can reach the linings and cause brake slippage. During the clutch lock-up inspection, full power must not be held for more than 10 seconds because clutch or engine damage may result.
Specification Highlights
Accurate service limits are supplied for the major engine wear points. Cylinder-head nut torque is 0.8-1.2 kg-m (6.0-8.5 lb-ft). Cylinder bore is 41.000-41.015 mm standard with a 41.065 mm service limit; piston-to-cylinder clearance is 0.055-0.085 mm standard with a 0.120 mm limit. Crankshaft deflection is limited to 0.05 mm, conrod small-end bore to 16.040 mm, and piston-ring end gap to 0.75 mm.
The automatic clutch is checked at 2,400 +/- 200 rpm engagement speed and 3,500 +/- 300 rpm lock-up speed. The clutch-wheel inside-diameter limit is 87.40 mm, while the 20-pitch drive-chain length limit is 173.7 mm. Transmission oil capacity is 500 ml, with SAE 20W/40 motor oil specified.
For tuning and electrical repair, the Mikuni VM12SH data includes a 12 mm bore, 1,500 +/- 150 rpm idle speed, #77.5 main jet, 3F13-3 jet needle, E-6 needle jet, and #15 pilot jet. Ignition timing is specified at 25° +/- 2° BTDC at 4,000 rpm, while ignition-coil secondary resistance is 16-18 kΩ. Brake and wheel service data includes an 80.5 mm brake-drum inside-diameter limit, 1.5 mm brake-lining limit, 2.0 mm axial/radial rim-runout limit, and 1.6 mm minimum tread depth.
