K4 and K5 Differences
The manual distinguishes K4 and K5 hardware where the build changes matter. Examples include separate front-brake exploded views and pad-retention procedures, different wheel-balance-weight designs and fitment, K4/K5 suspension exploded views, and model-specific downtube fastener specifications. These distinctions help prevent applying a K4 component arrangement or service detail to a K5 assembly.

Final-drive setup likewise warns that excessive bearing preload can damage the bearings, making preload, backlash, and tooth-contact checks important when related gear or bearing components are disturbed. During brake master-cylinder repair, the manual specifically warns against removing the secondary cup from the piston because removal damages the cup.
Brake and clutch hydraulic service, engine removal, and internal drivetrain repair are written for technicians with the proper tools and workshop knowledge. Improper repair can leave the motorcycle unsafe to operate.
