Engine and Transmission Repair

The engine section covers the 1304cc SOHC V-twin from removal through disassembly and assembly. Cylinder-head work includes valve-guide replacement and valve-seat inspection, with separate front- and rear-cylinder camshaft alignment references. Periodic maintenance covers valve-clearance adjustment, ignition-timing checks, and compression testing.

Crankshaft procedures include connecting-rod bearing selection and clearance checks. The manual explains how interchanging connecting rods and big-end bearings can create incorrect clearances and damage the engine.
