Suzuki Bandit 600 Service Manual 1999–2002 (P/N 99500-36102-01E)

This 380-page PDF is Suzuki's factory GSF600S/GSF600 Service Manual, Part No. 99500-36102-01E. It is the third edition issued in December 2001; the publication page also records the first edition as December 1999. Suzuki states that the manual is written for people who already have the motorcycle-service knowledge, skills, and tools - including special tools - needed to perform the work. It is not presented as a beginner's repair guide.

• Exact model coverage: GSF600SY and GSF600Y (2000); GSF600SK1, GSF600SUK1, and GSF600K1 (2001); and GSF600K2 and GSF600SK2 (2002), covering the faired GSF600S and naked GSF600 configurations identified in the manual.
• Major engine repair: Covers removal and full disassembly/reassembly of the four-stroke, air-cooled DOHC four-cylinder; the 2000 specifications also identify SACS and TSCC. Model-Year Differences That Matter

The core chapters are based on the GSF600SY (2000 model). A dedicated GSF600Y section covers the naked model's combination meter, headlight and beam adjustment, wiring diagram, wire-harness layout, front brake-hose routing, specifications, and service data. The tables retain market-code and U-type differences where Suzuki lists distinct carburetor, ignition, lighting, chassis, or fluid data.

For 2001, Suzuki adds separate service-data coverage for GSF600 and GSF600S/GSF600SU configurations and documents the gasket washer added at the lower crankcase. The 2002 section states that its specification and service data carry over from the K1 model, then adds fuel-level-gauge removal and inspection, fuel-level-meter diagnosis, and separate GSF600S and GSF600 wiring and harness-routing sheets. These Y, K1, and K2 chapters are change sections used with the base procedures in Chapters 1 through 7, not three independent stand-alone manuals.

Repair Data, Tools, and Schematics

The service-data pages organize factory standards and wear limits for the valve train, camshafts and cylinder head, pistons and rings, clutch, transmission, connecting rods and crankshaft, oil pump, carburetors, electrical system, wheels, suspension, brakes, and fuel and oil. The manual also flags repair traps that matter during major work. Uneven tightening of the camshaft journal holders can damage the cylinder head or holder thrust surfaces. In the carburetor section, Suzuki warns that compressed air can damage an installed diaphragm and that attempting to remove the factory press-fit main air jet will cause damage.

Fuel-system, brake, engine-removal, and electrical repairs require appropriate workshop support and safe working practices. Suzuki warns that improper repair can injure the mechanic and leave the motorcycle unsafe for the rider and passenger.
