A Preview of Engine Pressure-Test Data

The compression-test standard is 400 kPa or higher with the automatic decompression system actuated, the engine warm, and the throttle fully open. The section also lists mechanical causes of a low reading.

Oil-pressure data specify 50 kPa at 4,000 r/min with oil at 50°C (122°F). The accompanying diagnostic notes distinguish causes of low pressure from high pressure in the lubrication circuit.
