Engine Repair and Diesel Fuel System

The air-cooled F3L 912/913 and F4L 912/913 engine sections cover valve train geometry, cylinder-head servicing, and the complete timing gear train. Inspection data includes crankshaft journal dimensions, bearing clearances, piston and cylinder wear limits, and component-specific tightening specifications.

Injector coverage includes opening-pressure, seat-leakage, and spray-pattern tests. Overhaul notes address locating-dowel damage when a carbon-bound nozzle turns with its cap nut. Injection-pump work covers removal, static timing, and speed adjustment. Internal pump and governor overhaul is outside the procedures provided and requires specialist equipment and training.

Clutch, Transmission, and PTO Variants

The dry dual-plate clutch has independently operated travel and PTO plates. Release-lever height adjustment is referred to a dealer with the special clutch service tool.

Separate transmission sections distinguish the 6240–6260 Creeper gear and Dual-Split options from the 6265/6275 gearbox. Cross sections of the Dual-Split/input-shaft assembly and 6265/6275 transmission support the bearing and shim-adjustment procedures.

Lubricant-capacity data distinguishes front-wheel-drive and Creeper gear configurations. PTO chapters cover single-speed 540-rpm and dual-speed 540/1,000-rpm units, including drive shafts, output shafts, and bearing adjustments.

Rear Axle Serial Breaks and Brake Systems

Power Steering and Hydraulic Lift Diagnosis

Steering-wheel slip and cylinder-leakage tests help distinguish steering-cylinder faults from control-valve leakage. Exploded views identify the ZF and Danfoss steering control valves. Danfoss overhaul is described; ZF work beyond seal replacement is referred to a suitably equipped dealer.

Hydraulic coverage distinguishes single-element and tandem pumps. Lift-system schematics show versions with and without Star cab, including position, draft, and float control; Star cab versions also have combined load-and-depth control.
