Engine Repair and VP44 Diagnosis

Engine service data distinguish standard dimensions, repair sizes and wear limits. The repair worksheets extend to valve guides and seat inserts, camshaft and timing-case work, bearing shells, piston rings and cylinder-liner projection.

Fault isolation: The EDC troubleshooting program links fault codes to test conditions, measurements and likely causes. Its no-start flowchart separates starter-control, fuel-supply and injection-control checks, providing a diagnostic path before pump or ECU replacement is considered.

The VP44 pump and its control module are matched components; the manual specifies replacement as a complete pump assembly. Start-of-delivery documentation identifies measuring pin X 899.980.245.101, while service information distinguishes air-filter ejector retrofit versions by serial number.

The valve-timing section warns that displacement of the camshaft drive gear can cause severe engine damage. Cooling-system coverage also explains how water-pump leakage should be assessed before replacement.

Transmission Testing and Calibration

Terminal A008 provides reference readings for investigating power loss and transmission overheating, while separate pressure and electrical measurements support diagnosis. Calibration code 4007 includes transmission-ratio calibration and explanations of its error messages.

The transmission hydraulic diagram and measuring-point illustrations connect circuit operation with the pressure-recording tables. The manual also distinguishes routine oil changes from filling an emptied high-pressure circuit: inadequate filling can damage the variable-displacement pump and motors through dry running.

Brake documentation specifies Pentosin CHF 11S for the brake and clutch actuation circuits and includes bleeding procedures and subsequent checks.

Hydraulic Controls and Electrical Tracing

EPC coverage includes draft and position sensing, shock-load damping, radar-based slip control and the EHR 23-LS control valve. Hydraulic test sheets distinguish LS-pump, steering-supply and control-pressure measurements.

Valve compatibility: Fav 700 and Fav 900 SB 23 LS-EHS valves are not interchangeable because their CAN-bus transmission rates differ. The valve-numbering and replacement sections explain the relevant configuration work.

Diagram coverage includes the front-suspension troubleshooting chart, steering-cylinder drawing, power and steering hydraulics schematic, and wiring sheets for the comfort bus, transmission bus and EDC engine control. For the covered tractors, wheel-fastener specifications are 450 Nm at the front and 620 Nm at the rear, with threads and locating faces lightly oiled.
