Engine and fuel system: 248 cc, liquid-cooled DOHC two-cylinder engine with a 62.0 × 41.2 mm bore and stroke, 12.4:1 compression ratio, and twin Keihin CVK30 carburetors. The supplement specifies 0.10 mm intake and 0.13 mm exhaust valve clearance, 1,300 ±100 rpm idle speed, 17 mm float height, and a usable cylinder-compression range of 980–1,500 kPa. Standard, California, and high-altitude carburetor data are separated to prevent incorrect jetting or emissions-system setup.

Cooling and lubrication: Covers coolant draining, filling and air bleeding, cooling-system pressure testing, radiator and cap checks, thermostat testing, water-pump repair, and fan-switch and temperature-sensor inspection. Oil quantities are distinguished as 1.5 L without filter removal, 1.6 L with the filter removed, and 1.9 L total capacity. Several repair cautions are specific to this engine. The camshaft caps are machined with the cylinder head and must return to their marked positions; mixing them can damage the cam journals or head. Liquid gasket applied outside the indicated crankcase areas can obstruct an oil passage and cause engine seizure. The alternator rotor must not be struck during removal because impact can separate its internal magnets or reduce their magnetism.
