Workshop Procedures and Diagnostic Depth
The engine repair sections run from removal and post-installation alignment through intake, exhaust, PTO/magneto, oil-pressure, cooling-system, cylinder-head, camshaft-timing, valve, piston, ring, crankshaft, connecting-rod, timing-chain, and balancer-shaft work. The 215/260 supercharger chapter adds on-engine and bench clutch slipping-moment tests, complete disassembly, bearing and friction-clutch inspection, reassembly, and final verification. Separate 215 and 260 intercooler chapters cover leak testing, removal, and installation; the 260 section also covers flushing, cleaning, and attachment repair.
B.U.D.S./MPI-2 troubleshooting is tied into CAN diagnostics, the monitoring system, and fault-code tables. Fuel-system coverage includes closed-throttle reset, ECM, fuel rail, injectors, throttle body, tank and pump tests, plus TPS, CPS, CAPS, MATS, CTS, MAPS, EGTS, and knock-sensor circuits. Seasonal storage, preseason preparation, towing, submerged or capsized watercraft, and water-flooded engine procedures are included.
Propulsion and chassis work covers iBR neutral adjustment, gate backlash, friction sleeves, functional tests, actuator and U-arm service, jet-pump leak testing, impeller/wear-ring and shaft-bearing inspection, drive-shaft sealing components, steering alignment, and O.T.A.S. Model-specific body and hull sections add moving decks, boarding platforms, ride plates, inlet grates, sponsons, jet-pump supports, WAKE pylons, and dedicated manual-suspension, aS, and iS repair. The iS chapter includes diagnostic flowcharts, the position sensor, control module, hydraulic pump, and actuator.
Wiring, Special Tools, and Repair Cautions
Electrical references include the Power Distribution Diagram; the 2012 Sea-Doo 4-TEC-iTC all-series foldout; the 2013 4-TEC-iTC main sheet; its starting, charging, and ignition system sheet; 48-pin ECM Molex pinouts; and connector views for iBR/iS power and the 24-pin APEX ErgOMate steering connector. Connector procedures address terminal identification, inspection, safe probing, extraction, and reassembly.
Selected BRP tools include the alignment shaft P/N 295 000 141, alignment-shaft support P/N 529 035 506, and alignment-shaft adapter P/N 529 035 719; MPI-2 cable P/N 710 000 851 and interface card P/N 529 036 018; diagnostic harness P/N 529 036 188; ECM adapter P/N 529 036 166; and supercharger retaining key P/N 529 036 027. Tools and B.U.D.S. software are referenced, not supplied with the PDF.
Manual-specific repair cautions are built into the procedures. The supercharger section flags both ball bearings for replacement after shaft removal and warns that incorrect cage orientation or unsupported pressing loads can shorten bearing life. It also notes that the 215 intercooler outlet hose can scuff against the engine block if it is not returned to its holder, while chemical cleaners can permanently damage the 260 intercooler.
Included 2013 Material and File Scope
The 322-page 2013 supplement must be used with the 2012 manual and updates only the systems it covers.
