Valve, guide, and seat service is referred to a qualified machine shop; the manual specifically warns that grinding the valves can cause engine damage.

Maintenance coverage includes break-in inspections, oil/filter changes, and storage preparation. The initial oil/filter change is listed at 500 miles, with a one-month limit also specified for 5000/9000 models, whichever comes first.

Water Pumps, Cooling Circuits, and the 9000 Turbo

7000 TPS requirements: Checking and adjusting the throttle position sensor requires CATT II, P/N 0544-023, and the instructions supplied with that tool. Laptop-based EFI testing is referred to a separate diagnostic manual.

Clutch Alignment, Chaincase Repair, and Brakes

The CVT section connects belt wear and shift complaints with clutch condition, offset, and parallelism. Tool references include Clutch Alignment Bar P/N 0644-428 and Drive Clutch Puller P/N 0744-062.

Chain Case Performance Calibrations accompany chain, sprocket, shaft, and mechanical-reverse service. The 7000 section warns that incompatible chain and sprocket tooth profiles can damage the drivetrain.

Brake coverage extends to caliper pistons, seals, and the driveshaft bearing. The master cylinder is replaced as an assembly rather than internally rebuilt.

Skid Frames and Fox Shock Rebuilding

Suspension setup explains ski pressure, weight transfer, limiter straps, and rear-arm couplers. Separate ZR, M/XF, and RR procedures address chassis differences, with Sno Pro air-shock settings and rebuilding information.

Fox Float X EVOL procedures extend to the air-sleeve DU bushing, shim stacks, shaft seals, EVOL reservoir, and internal floating piston. Mono-tube service covers seal replacement, bleeding, and nitrogen charging.

At a cold-engine temperature of 59–77°F, intake valve clearance for 5000/9000 engines is 0.0039–0.0078 in. Exhaust clearance is 0.0078–0.0118 in. for the 5000 and 0.0118–0.0157 in. for the 9000.

Brake caliper-to-chassis cap screws are specified at 25 ft-lb with blue Loctite #243.
