Air-bag and seat-service cautions

The manual warns that an air bag can remain capable of deployment for up to ten minutes after the ignition is switched off and the battery is disconnected, and it identifies yellow connectors as probable air-bag circuits; interior repair in these areas requires the proper service information and a qualified technician.

Aftermarket seat covers or objects stored under the passenger seat can interfere with passenger-sensing operation. Damage to an air-bag covering may require replacement of the steering-wheel module, instrument panel, or side-air-bag seatback, while incorrectly latched rear seats or misrouted belts can compromise restraint performance.
