Model and System Differences

The coverage separates the gear-drive 7232, 7234, 7272, and 7274 from the hydrostatic 7233, 7235, 7273, and 7275. It also identifies the 7234, 7235, 7274, and 7275 as MFD models and provides their required matched front/rear tire combinations. Engine data is divided between the 1,235 cc 7232-7235 group and the 1,496 cc 7272-7275 group, with the related bore, stroke, compression, injection, lubrication, cooling, and capacity specifications.

MFD models must retain the specified matched tire combinations; mixing tire diameters or worn and new tires can upset ground-speed matching and increase front-drive wear. An incorrect hitch raise-stop position can damage the hydraulic pump, while improper remote-valve or hydraulic-block setup can overheat or damage the hydraulic system.

This is not a full repair manual: it contains no internal engine, transmission, axle, or hydraulic-component teardown and overhaul procedures. Electrical coverage is limited to specifications, charging-system precautions, fuses, the fusible link, battery service, and headlamp adjustment; it does not include complete wiring diagrams or fault-isolation charts. For internal component repair, a separate service manual is required.

PTO equipment, raised implements, pressurized hydraulic lines, batteries, and inflated tires present serious hazards. Follow the manual's shutdown, blocking, pressure-relief, and protective-equipment instructions before service.
