Engine Maintenance and Internal Inspection Limits

The technical tables document bore and stroke dimensions, the double-overhead-camshaft, four-valve configuration, primary gear ratios, transmission sprocket data, and secondary-drive combinations. Lubrication instructions cover the filter cartridge and mesh filters in the dry-sump system; cooling-system instructions cover coolant replacement and hose inspection.

The air-filter section explains how incorrect element seating can admit dust and accelerate piston-ring and cylinder wear.

Selected Spark Plug and Hydraulic Fluid Specifications

These examples provide a small sample of the maintenance specifications in the manual.

The NGK CR8EB spark plug is listed with a 0.7 mm (0.027 in.) electrode gap.

The fluid table specifies DOT 4 brake fluid for the braking systems and SAE 10 mineral oil for the hydraulic clutch. The clutch instructions expressly warn against using brake fluid in that circuit.
