The 20001-up volume has its own drive-shaft split at 20001-20033 and 20034-up. D-spec exceptions are also identified on applicable radiator and power-train pages, so the technician can select the correct diagram and repair procedure before teardown.

Both manuals state that detailed S6D140-1 engine information belongs in the separate 6D140-1 Series Engine Shop Manual. These PDFs cover machine-side engine testing, related components, cylinder-head work, and engine removal and installation, but they are not a full crankshaft, block, and short-block overhaul manual.

File-scope note: the 10001-up PDF jumps from numbered page 62-14 to 62-17 and from 82-78 to 82-81. The work-equipment troubleshooting material for cases 2-7 and the early-monitor M-8(b) pages are therefore not included in that file.

Several repair cautions are specific to these assemblies. The center-hinge bearings and spacers are clearance-matched; mixing the pairs or pressing a bearing in at an angle can damage the bearing and its fitted surface. In the SA-series gear pump, the suction and delivery side plates must not be reversed, and the seal and backup rings must remain seated or the sealing edges can be damaged and oil leakage can result. Steering-cylinder rods and brake seals also require protected surfaces and the specified seal-lip direction, since scratches or reversed packing can quickly damage the sealing surfaces.

Before beginning repair work, follow the manual’s instructions for installing the frame safety bar, lowering the work equipment, releasing hydraulic and air pressure, isolating the battery, blocking the tires, and using lifting gear rated for the listed component weights.
