Specifications and Variant Identification

The ignition section divides U.S. 55/60 Marathon and SeaPro engines at S/N 0G277479/0G277480, and 45 Jet plus 50/60 electric-start engines at S/N 0G277605/0G277606. These breaks separate black-stator and red-stator test applications. For earlier units, the manual calls for checking the number printed on the stator before selecting the test specifications. For engines in the Belgium serial range, this edition provides no corresponding internal serial break, so the stator number is the practical identifier for selecting the test chart.

The timing chapter also notes that 50/55/60 engines from S/N D000750 through D181999 originally used NGK BU8H spark plugs, while NGK BP8H-N-10 can be used in those units.
