The automatic camshaft-chain tensioner extends as it is released, and the camshaft caps are line-machined with the cylinder head; incorrect handling can damage the tensioner, chain, caps, or cam journals. The upper and lower crankcase halves are likewise a factory-matched set and should not be mixed with another case assembly.
Fuel-system work, hot cooling-system service, hydraulic brakes and clutch components, rotating engine parts, and high-current electrical circuits all carry real hazards.
