Operational and Maintenance Documentation
The RC-30 service manual includes factory repair procedures for fuel-tank and fuel-sending-unit work, radiator/oil-cooler removal and adjustment, hydraulic-reservoir service and cleaning, loader and drive joystick components, loader-valve removal, auxiliary gear pump and tandem hydrostatic pump work, pump-drive coupler service, drive motors, brakes, track and sprocket components, lift/tilt cylinders, the low-flow relief valve, and quick-attach components. It also covers fuel-system bleeding, track-tension adjustment, and charge, drive, and auxiliary hydraulic pressure checks and adjustments. Fuel bleeding is split between serial numbers 001-1357 and 1358-and-higher.
The RC-30/RC-50 operations guide documents the standard pilot-operated loader and drive controls as well as the optional Case-style control arrangement. With the Case-style setup, each joystick combines travel and loader functions, and the float position must be held manually rather than retained by the normal magnetic detent. Pre-start checks, operating limits, service intervals, grease locations, fluid recommendations, and attachment hydraulic operation are included for both models.
Some small notes matter in real repair work. The fuel-sender float mechanism can be damaged while it is pulled through the tank opening. The exhaust flex pipe must not be kinked or twisted; because the engine moves relative to the frame-mounted muffler, a stressed pipe can fail prematurely. Open hydraulic hoses and fittings are repeatedly called out to be capped during pump, valve, and reservoir repair because contamination shortens the service life of hydrostatic components.
Specification and Reference Data
The RC-30 service data identifies the Caterpillar 3013 as a 1.5-liter engine rated at 31.5 hp at 2,800 rpm, with 1,175-rpm low idle. The hydrostatic transmission is identified as a Cat AA10VG18 tandem drive-pump unit (Rexroth), with 3,800-psi drive relief pressure. Charge pressure has an important serial break: machines through RSA01056 are specified at 450-500 psi at high idle with warm oil, while RSA01057 and higher are 340-380 psi under the same conditions. The Rexroth auxiliary pump is rated at 10 gpm at 2,800 rpm with 3,000 psi relief pressure; the Husko loader valve also uses a 3,000-psi relief setting and requires 180-220 psi pilot pressure to move the spools.
Reference values include:

The parts manual adds repair-relevant component changes that are easy to miss when ordering parts. Current-production lift-arm and bucket/tilt cylinders use threaded end glands, while early cylinders use an external wire ring. The listed gland, rod, and nut components do not fit the early style; ASV lists seal kit P/N 0402-946 as the repair item for those early cylinders, with cylinder replacement required if more extensive repair is needed.
