2004 ASV RC-50 & RC-50 Turf Edition Rubber Track Loader Service Manual (P/N 0200-373)

ASV publication ASVSP002 (07/04), P/N 0200-373, is the factory service manual for the 2004 RC-50 and RC-50 Turf Edition rubber track loaders. Its 15 chapters also include R-50 specifications, control descriptions, and hydraulic system diagrams.

RC-50 and R-50 Controls

The RC-50 uses separate loader and drive joysticks. The R-50 splits bucket/boom operation and individual track travel between its two controls. Loader float magnet removal and installation applies to the RC-50 only.

Hydraulic Diagnosis and Repair Scope

Troubleshooting distinguishes a machine that will not crank from one that cranks but will not start. Other fault lists address inactive hydraulics, one-direction-only auxiliary flow, charging failures, float problems, hot hydraulic oil, and track popping.

Undercarriage Tools and Repair Precautions

Track replacement identifies a wheel extractor, track tool, and bullet-shaped thread/seal protector. Sprocket rollers can be replaced without removing the track, which helps distinguish roller service from a full track-removal job.

The track-tension section warns that loose tracks can misfeed or ratchet and damage the track.

Engine, Cooling, and Cab Service

Engine coverage includes Cat 3024C (Perkins 404C-22) specifications, oil service intervals, and fuel system maintenance. Internal engine overhaul is outside the scope.

Radiator/oil cooler instructions cover hose connections and assembly replacement. Cab and chassis procedures address the fuel sending unit's hoses, wiring, and pickup line; the float mechanism can be damaged as the sender passes through the tank opening.

The Filtering and Cooling System drawing maps the reservoir, radiator/oil cooler, and loader valve. Separate Auxiliary Circuit System and Drive Loop System drawings for the RC-50 and R-50 show their pilot control manifolds and hydraulic connections.
