The service procedures and serial-specific parts drawings support different stages of the same repair: diagnosing the fault, identifying the assembly, and selecting the applicable components. Later parts information distinguishes Cat and Perkins engine installations and revised hydraulic and undercarriage assemblies.

Coverage limits: RC-50 coverage is confined to the operation and maintenance guide. The RC-30 service section covers component replacement and adjustment, without internal Cat/Perkins engine overhaul or internal tandem-pump and drive-motor rebuilding procedures.

Serial-Specific Parts and Cylinder Differences

The original service specifications describe the Cat 3013 installation. Parts drawings identify the Cat engine as 3013NA for RSA00101-2603 and the Perkins 403C-15 from RSA02604-Current. Fuel-bleeding instructions also distinguish serial numbers 001 through 1357 from 1358 and higher.

Separate parts views cover the reservoir change at RSA02152, pump/drive and undercarriage changes at RSA02053, quick-attach changes at RSA02023, and hydraulic-control/fuse-panel changes at RSA02786. Later pump/drive drawings list Sauer drive motors, while the service specifications identify Eaton/Charlynn 4000 Light Series motors.

Cylinder repair limits: Later lift and bucket/tilt cylinders have threaded end glands; early cylinders retain the glands with external wire rings. For the early design, seal kit ASV P/N 0402-946 is the only listed repair item; damage requiring further repair calls for cylinder replacement. The parts information separately identifies lift-arm cylinder P/N 0304-349 and bucket/tilt cylinder P/N 0304-350.

Circuit Drawings and Maintenance References

The Filtering and Cooling System, Auxiliary Circuit System and Drive Loop System diagrams show how the hydraulic assemblies connect. Grease Fitting Locations complements the maintenance schedules and lubrication instructions.

The RC-30 Electrical Schematic identifies seat, lap-bar and optional door interlocks, fuse and relay distribution, starting and glow-plug circuits, float control and warning senders. Wire identifiers and connector pin numbers support circuit tracing.

The RC-30 Hydraulic Schematic maps the tandem pump, pilot manifold, loader valve, drive motors, brake circuit, cooler/filter path, auxiliary pump and attachment couplers.

Component Handling and Service Precautions

Fuel-system handling: The sending-unit instructions address crossed wires that disable the gauge, crossed hoses that prevent starting, and damage to the float or interference from the pickup line.

Reservoir and exhaust handling: Access-cover notes explain how its oval clamping disk can fall into the tank; reservoir-gauge notes address leaks caused by missing rubber washers. Exhaust instructions warn that twisting or kinking the flex pipe between the frame-mounted muffler and vibrating engine can cause premature failure.

Observe the manual’s machine-preparation, pressure-relief and lift-arm support precautions before service, including isolation of hot hydraulic and cooling components.

Pressure Settings, Torque Data and Track Checks

Hydraulic specifications: The service manual lists a 3800 psi drive-pump relief setting. Auxiliary-pump and Husko loader-valve relief specifications are 3000 psi, with 180–220 psi pilot pressure required to move the loader-valve spools.

Charge pressure and cooling: At high idle with warm oil, charge-pressure specifications are 450–500 psi for RSA001 through RSA01056 and 340–380 psi for RSA01057 and higher. Cooling references include a 100 psi cooler-bypass relief and a 225°F hot-oil sender.

Fasteners and track adjustment: Transmission mounting bolts are specified at 80 ft-lb with Blue Loctite; drive-sprocket drive-teeth bolts are specified at 110 ft-lb dry. The track-check specification permits no more than 0.75 in. deflection under a 50 lb checking load.

Maintenance intervals: The hydraulic maintenance schedule specifies fluid replacement at 500 service hours and filter replacement at 250 hours.
