HP expressly does not support component replacement on printed circuit boards. Two repair cautions are especially relevant during reassembly. The heavy-gauge leads at DC-controller terminals TB85 and TB86 are soldered to the PCA, not detachable lug connectors, and pulling them can damage the board. Incorrect routing of the lower ribbon and power cables can place them in the tray 2 lifter-drive path, where they can be damaged during operation.

Disconnect wall power before removing any assembly, use ESD protection around electronic boards, and allow the fuser to cool before handling it. The laser/scanner protective cover must remain installed during service; any checks that require energized equipment should be performed only by personnel trained for live electrical testing.
