Engine, Fuel, and Cooling Systems

Separate sections cover Continental gasoline engines, Perkins gasoline engines, and Perkins diesels. The Perkins gasoline section includes an exploded view and timing procedures for the Lanchester balancer and its oil pump.

The Perkins timing sections warn that turning the crankshaft and camshaft independently during timing-gear work can damage the pistons or valve train.

A Multi-Power cross-section explains the hydraulic clutch and jaw-type overrunning clutch. Pressure-test coverage distinguishes tractors with independent PTO, auxiliary hydraulics, or both.

Single, dual, and split-torque clutches have separate service and adjustment procedures. The dual-clutch section warns that driving the release-lever retaining pins through the cover can damage the Belleville spring.
