The controller material is organized around the actual build differences in the XL electric range. Irvine-built trucks produced before November 1987 use the Cableform Mark XI system, while Berea-built trucks use EV-100. The documentation then identifies the revised EV-100 configuration fitted at both plants after the November 1987 production change. Separate diagrams distinguish 36–48-volt and 72–80-volt systems, regenerative and non-regenerative traction circuits, field-weakening arrangements, one- and two-pump-motor hydraulic systems, SCR or contactor pump control, and battery indicators with or without lift interrupt.
