Model-Year Differences That Affect the Job

The later-model supplement is more than a specification update. It adds fuel-system depressurization, EFI component replacement and testing, ECM diagnosis, security-system work, revised lighting circuits, and model-specific fork, wheel, rear-fender, and brake information. Transmission procedures separately address 2004-2005 and 2006-on assemblies, including different main-drive-gear tools and bearing arrangements.

Repair Depth Beyond Routine Maintenance

Routine work covers lubricants, spark plugs, battery service, tires, primary-chain and drive-belt checks, clutch and throttle adjustment, and periodic inspections.
