The K161-T 7 HP engine is identified for tractors with a retractable starter, while the K161-S 7 HP version is listed for electric-start tractors. TC-113 also records the K181 8 HP replacement engines as Spec. No. 30565 and 30564 respectively, plus the K241-A 10 HP electric-start engine. The engine sections separate parts used with and without automatic compression release and show differences in ignition cams, motor-generator drive pulleys, flywheels, ignition parts, piston oversizes, connecting rods, seals, and camshaft shims.

The differential and countershaft use multiple shim thicknesses rather than one generic spacer stack; mixing or omitting those selective shims can disturb the original bearing and gear relationship. The rear axle listings also separate bushing-type and needle-bearing carriers, so forcing the wrong bearing arrangement into a mismatched carrier can damage the bearing or carrier.

Scope and What Is Not Included

TC-113 does not contain step-by-step repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities, service intervals, valve-adjustment data, pressure tests, or troubleshooting flow charts. Its exploded views identify part relationships and hardware placement, but they are not a substitute for a factory repair procedure.

Because TC-113 is parts-identification material, work around the PTO, clutch, starting system, brakes, and hydraulic lift should be done with the machine secured and electrical or rotating components isolated as appropriate.

There are explicit scope limits inside the catalog. The steering gear listing directs users to Garden Tractor Model 1210 for repair parts, and several carburetor entries specify that a complete carburetor or repair kit must be furnished instead of an individual component. Common fasteners are frequently marked as locally purchased hardware, while other items are identified as NLA. Those notes help prevent a parts-ordering mistake before a repair is started.
