The two model years are handled as distinct service configurations. The 2000 starter has its own centrifugal-Bendix service chapter, while the 2001 unit receives separate solenoid-driven-Bendix procedures and slave-solenoid diagnosis. The 2001 wiring material also identifies a compressor-temperature-sender circuit change at S/N 0T280000 / 0T280001, including the added tan lead used with an analog temperature gauge.

Section 2A covers fault isolation with and without the Digital Diagnostic Terminal, DDT function references, a dedicated DFI troubleshooting guide, harness-connector handling, and removal and installation of the ECM, ignition module, crank position sensor, and TPS. Major Repair Sections and Factory Reference Data

Standard- and counter-rotation gear housings have their own exploded assemblies, special-tool lists, gear-location and backlash work, bearing-carrier service, propeller-shaft procedures, pressure testing, and installation data.
