Hyster Manual Features & Content Preview
- Covers Hyster H8.00–12.00XL (H165–280XL) [E007], H13.00–16.00XL (H300–360XL) [D019], and H10.00–12.00XL–12EC (H330–360XL–EC) [D019] pneumatic tire lift trucks in a 550-page set of 25 PDF sections.
- Perkins engine repair extends to cylinder-head reconditioning, crankshaft and cylinder-liner inspection, timing-gear service, fuel-injection timing, and injector testing.
- Earlier three-speed powershift transmission and torque converter coverage includes internal disassembly and reassembly, clutch inspection, stall testing, pressure checks, and Monotrol pedal adjustment.
- Planetary drive axle and Differential, 1400 SRM 46, procedures cover hub service, pinion-depth adjustment, bearing preload, ring-gear clearance, and gear-tooth contact checks.
- Air-brake service addresses brake shoes, camshafts, spring-brake chambers, pedal valves, and compressor-governor adjustment. A separate air-compressor section covers internal repair.
- Hydraulic pump seal replacement, main control valve relief checks, and steering control unit overhaul are covered, with distinctions between load-sensing and non-load-sensing steering.
- Vista two- and three-stage mast repair covers removal and assembly, chain, roller, and bearing-block adjustment, sideshift/fork-positioner service, and lift/tilt cylinder leak checks.
Engine Variants and Transmission Coverage
The truck specification sheets identify the Perkins Diesel 1000-6 and GM V8 6-liter LPG configurations. The shared 91-page Perkins engine reference covers 1004-4 (AA), 1004-4T (AB), 1006-6 (YA), and 1006-6T (YB), distinguishing naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines and CAV DPA/DPS injection pumps. GM wiring and specification data are included, but GM internal engine overhaul is outside this set’s scope.
Fuel-system material includes bleeding arrangements with vent tubes or vent screws. Perkins tool references identify the PD.41D gauge for piston height, valve depth, and cylinder-liner flange measurements. Timing-system cautions explain how rotating the crankshaft with timing gears removed can cause piston-to-valve damage.
The illustrated transmission rebuild material includes the Gear and Clutch Group drawings. Later Hyster T–50 coverage includes removal and installation, pressure-port data, and Transmission Schematic, Hyster T–50, identified for trucks manufactured after February 1993. The frame chapter also notes T–50 retrofits to earlier trucks. The separately referenced internal-overhaul section, 1300 SRM 518, is not included. Transmission removal cautions address drive-plate damage if the unit tilts during separation from the engine.
System Overviews and Maintenance Data
Alternator repair documentation for Delco, Motorola, and Leece-Neville units appears in P/N 899784, with rotor, stator, diode, and regulator checks. The Delco starter section covers voltage-drop checks, armature and field-coil tests, and drive-clutch inspection. Instrument material covers gauges, senders, and switches.
Cooling System, 700 SRM 626, details cooling system fluid routing and radiator cleaning protocols, including reverse cleaning, thermostat checks, and overheating diagnosis. The frame section covers counterweights, engine/transmission removal, the operator compartment, and cab heater and wiper service. Scheduled maintenance extends to multi-piece wheel and tire service.
Wiring Diagrams and Configuration Changes
Electrical drawings distinguish diesel autoshift and dual-function side-shift/fork-position options, along with U.S. and European lighting layouts and wire-identification tables. Autoshift is not available with the GM V8 in these configurations. Diesel wiring revisions include the D7E–2238/D7E–2239 changeover.
The Air System Schematic (With Autoshift) identifies de-throttle and transmission-shift circuits. Electrical System Schematic, GM V8 distinguishes Monotrol and forward/reverse shift connections. Hydraulic references include Hydraulic System Schematic—U.S., With Load Sensing Circuit and Hydraulic System Schematic—EC; Without Load Sensing Circuit, With Two Speed Hoist. The EC load-sensing circuit is shown without two-speed hoist.
12EC material covers mast and cylinder service plus attachment electrical and hydraulic circuits. The separate empty-container attachment overhaul section is not part of this set.
Component Specifications and Reference Values
Reference material provides component-specific torque tables, fluid capacities, engine wear limits and clearances, electrical test specifications, and transmission pressure-check locations. Mast data includes chain-wear limits, allowable movement from internal leakage, and cylinder-stroke and tilt-angle adjustments. Metric and inch (SAE) fastener identification and torque tables are supplied separately.
Review the manual’s safety procedures before inspecting high-pressure systems, spring-loaded brake chambers, or lifting mechanisms.
