Separate steering sections cover axle removal, steering-cylinder service, hubs and spindles, steering-column types, steering-control-unit overhaul, bleeding, checks, and troubleshooting.

Vista mast information describes two-stage, free-lift, three-stage, and four-stage layouts, carriage and side-shift arrangements, lift-cylinder designs, lowering-control valves, and cylinder sealing work. The dedicated Vista mast repair chapter 4000 SRM 223 is referenced but is not included, so this set should not be purchased as a complete mast-overhaul manual.

Schematics, Specifications, and Service Cautions

The 18-page diagrams file contains 11 numbered drawings. Useful examples include the T41/T42/T43 transmission schematic, the hydraulic-system schematic, gasoline/LPG safety wiring, diesel safety wiring, and the instrument-panel electrical diagram. Other sections add early- and late-production Mazda charging circuits, a transmission section view, and ring-and-pinion tooth-contact patterns.

Manual-specific cautions matter during major repair work. The transmission instructions warn that incorrect torque-converter hub engagement can damage the oil pump. The Mazda section cautions that rotating the camshaft with the crankshaft gear removed while the valve mechanism remains installed can damage the valve train. Mast components must be fully lowered or mechanically restrained before work, and hydraulic pressure and battery power must be isolated as directed in the applicable section.
