Shop Notes
The manual specifically warns against resting the engine on the oil pan because the oil-pump strainer and pan can be damaged. Common-rail repair also depends on strict contamination control, and an injector replacement is not complete at the mechanical installation stage because its correction data must be registered to the ECM.
Work involving high-pressure fuel, rotating assemblies, a pressurized cooling system, electrical power, or suspended engine components requires suitable isolation, lifting equipment, and standard heavy-equipment shop procedures.
