1996–2003 Polaris Sportsman 400/500, 500 H.O. & Xplorer 500 ATV Service Manual

Fluid data lists 1.89 L of engine oil and 75 cc of front hub oil, plus a 50:50 ethylene glycol-based coolant mixture for aluminum engines and radiators.

At room temperature, 68°F (20°C), the base 1999–2000 exciter-coil reference is 1.6 ohms between red and green. The supplement lists 1.9 ohms between red and black/red for the later Sportsman 500 ignition and late-2003 Sportsman 400 configuration.
