2006 Ricoh B245/B276/B277/B268/B269 Copier Service Manual

This Ricoh K-C3 service manual, dated January 18, 2006, covers machine codes B245, B276, B277, B268, and B269, including basic copier and GDI printer/scanner configurations.

• Installation and options: Copier setup, ADF/ARDF installation, optional paper-feed units, one-bin tray installation, and anti-condensation heater fitting.

Installation and Maintenance Procedures

Installation procedures identify the ADF as B813 and the ARDF as B814. Feeder coverage includes installation, maintenance, image adjustment, and diagnostic checks.

The PM tables distinguish cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and replacement tasks across the optics, drum area, paper feed, fuser, and peripherals. A separate procedure covers resetting the PM counter after maintenance.

PCU, Scanner, and Fusing Repair

The PCU procedures distinguish component repairs from complete-unit replacement and specify TD-sensor initialization through SP 2214. Alcohol can dissolve the OPC drum surface.

Scanner-position adjustments use positioning pins A0069104; the special-tool list also specifies S5S test chart A2929500.

Laser unit alignment uses the Trimming Area test pattern, while internal laser optical-housing repair is restricted to a factory or suitably equipped facility. Disturbing the factory-set LD adjustments can put the laser unit out of alignment.

Fusing procedures cover hot-roller, pressure-roller, stripper-pawl, and bushing replacement, plus nip-band assessment at operating temperature.

Always verify that the machine is disconnected from power and follow the manual's electrical, laser-unit, and hot-fuser safety precautions.

SC Diagnostics, Electronics, and Firmware

Electrical component defect tables pair connector and pin references with open/short symptoms. Together with SP input/output checks and jam histories, they help trace false paper-jam reports to the relevant sensor circuit.

The BICU sections cover board replacement and machine-data handling. Image-processing explanations address auto shading and the IPU and VCU functions within the BICU's SCRATCH IC.

Component Layout, Paper Path, and Drive Layout drawings locate the mechanisms and drive components. The Board Structure block diagram and the Auto Power Control and LD Safety Switch circuits explain control-board relationships and laser control.

Flash-card NVRAM upload/download is explicitly limited to the basic machine. GDI configurations have separate engine and controller NVRAM handling, and the firmware section provides separate engine and GDI update procedures.

Selected Scanner Registration and Print Magnification Values

These examples are a small selection of the calibration specifications in the service tables.

For platen scanning, both leading-edge and side-to-side registration are specified at 2 ± 1.5 mm. The scanner tables associate these checks with SP 4010 and SP 4011.

For print output, the main-scan magnification specification is 100 ± 1.0%, with SP 2998 identified as the related adjustment.

Search and document detail: Body text is searchable, but text inside some diagrams and tables is not. Chapter bookmarks are included; RTB links require a separate bulletin PDF that is not included. Small labels in the APC and LD safety-switch diagrams are readable. Some tolerance symbols are missing on the copy-adjustment pages; the corresponding SP tables retain the complete values.
