JCB's nomenclature table identifies 2CX and 2CXU as the European names for the North American 210S and 210SU. Configuration-Specific Schematics

The drawing set is split by machine configuration rather than presented as one generic circuit. It includes separate 2CX and 212SU Utility electrical schematics, option circuits for the Cab Heater, Hand Held Hydraulic Tools, Hydraclamp, Airmaster Compressor, and Hammer, plus hydraulic system schematics titled for 2CX/210S, 2CX Airmaster, 2CX Farm Master, and 2CXU/212SU Utility. Syncro Shuttle tables distinguish standard 2CX/210S and 2CXU/210SU groups, low-emission 2CX/2CXL and 2CXU/212SU groups, multiple torque-converter types, Airmaster and Farm Master machines, and the 20-kph 2CX.

The North American naming needs careful matching: the introductory nomenclature table equates 2CXU with 210SU, while several circuit sheets use the 212SU Utility label. Use the machine identification plate, steer code, and build code to select the applicable schematic and procedure.

Factory Tools and Important Scope Limits

The manual identifies special tools by JCB number, including hydraulic pressure-test kit 892/00253, gearbox end-float setting tool 993/59400, axle solid-spacer setting kit 892/00918, and injection-pump timing pin 892/00956.

The dedicated Engine section is limited to service tools and technical data for the naturally aspirated 1004-40AJ build AJ50686, 1004-42AR build AR50696, and 1000 Series build AA50525. It does not contain a complete internal engine repair chapter; JCB directs the reader to separate Engine Service Manuals 9806/2140 and 9806/0100 for further engine work. Likewise, the air-conditioning chapter covers diagnosis and component service but expressly omits refrigerant charging and discharging procedures, which require specialist equipment and refrigeration training.

The excavator-valve spools are matched to their individual bores and must not be interchanged, even where they appear identical, or valve operation may be affected. On Airmaster-equipped machines, the compressor rotor must be restrained during bearing-screw tightening to avoid damage to the grooved seal diameter.

Before repair work, follow the manual's precautions for raised loader arms, stored hydraulic or accumulator pressure, vehicle support, battery isolation, brake work, and rotating components.
